GlamWigs is hosting a fundraising initiative where individuals suffering from hair loss/thinning due to cancer who are simply desiring a new look can purchase a wig and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Calgary Cancer Centre.
There will be a discount of 15% offered to any individual suffering from Cancer (no matter the stage, year round); with 5% of that being donated to the foundation on a regular basis.

Since 2014, MLAC has raised over $68,000. Unfortunately, due to COVID, they were not able to play any of the games as their season was cut short. They are hoping that the 2021/22 pink games with their 9 teams will be back better than ever and that they are able to help raise money for cancer research as well as aiding in the costs for those currently fighting cancer.
Please join the Spruce Grove Regals in their first ever “Pink in the Rink” game, raising awareness for those who unfortunately have been touched by this terrible disease, as well as the amazing heroes who dedicate their lives to caring for their patients.
Having lost many family members and friends to cancer, this event has become a way to not only honor their memory but raise funds and awareness. Getting to work with and inspire students is extremely rewarding and gives me hope for the future and finding a cure. The Alberta Cancer Foundation offers so much and this event is one way to help recognize their devotion.

A tattoo fundraiser with a silent auction component to it. They will host an event on March 20, 2022 where profits from the tattoo sales that day will be donated to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Wilde Bocce is an annual bocce ball tournament that was inspired by the Bodnarchuk’s “Granny” – Lucille Wilde, who passed away from cancer in February, 2014. They have run this event annually since June 2014, as a way to connect with family and friends, raise funds for the ACF and celebrate an amazing woman! Entry fee is that each participant must raise a minimum of $100 for the ACF. A day filled with bocce and other games for the kids that attend.
The Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer is in support of the most courageous and brave Albertans who have shown their Alberta strength through a cancer experience. Those with us. And those we’ve lost.

Chase the Cure YEG is a group of race car drivers, crew, family and friends whose goal is to raise awareness for the many kinds of Cancer that impact us every day. Chris Osicki’s fundraiser in honour of his dad Edward Osicki. Chris will be running in the Edmonton Marathon 2022 and will be raising funds to support prostate cancer.
Every year we celebrate our beautiful girl, Evelyn. Evelyn left us too soon after a
challenging flight with Neuroblastoma. Evelyn was a warrior when it came to her
treatment, facing the worst days with her signature bravery and smile.
Her battle was not lost, but fought hard with grace, light, and dignity.
She is carried in our hearts forever as we continue her legacy through the Team Evelyn
Foundation and our annual Birthday Bash Dance Party to celebrate Ev and raise
funds.
To make life better for sarcoma patients, more research is needed. My family and I have been working with the Alberta Cancer Foundation to raise funds specifically for full-time resources for sarcoma research. Together, we will create more moments for sarcoma patients across the province.
Every year, 150 Albertans are diagnosed with sarcoma, with children and young adults disproportionately accounting 15 per cent of cases.
In the summer of 2019, Rangeland Engineering partnered with the Alberta Cancer Foundation on the creation of the Cameron Daye and Catherine Pearson Sarcoma Fellowship Fund. Valued at approximately $2.7 million, the fund will be put toward groundbreaking sarcoma research initiatives. Funds will be spent on projects in Alberta — one of the first is immunotherapy treatment research, conducted by Dr. Michael Monument at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine — across Canada and abroad.
As sarcoma is rare, it is the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s goal to ensure that every sarcoma patient is recruited into this prospective research through iSARP, and outcomes measurement program. Clinical research capacity will be structured around the following priorities: an electronic web-based sarcoma database; prospective and retrospective patient data collection; database integration with clinical care portals; standardized outcome measurements; dedicated site-based clinical research personnel; and participation in sarcoma research.
The mission is to establish a first-in-kind, integrated, collaborative program of dedicated sarcoma research in Calgary focused on: a network of sarcoma knowledge generation; new therapeutic discoveries; patient-focused outcomes; personalized therapies and; leadership in prospective clinical trials. The goal is to become a centre of excellence for sarcoma research and patient care in both pediatric and adult sarcomas here in Alberta.
Our overall vision is to improve personalized therapeutic opportunities, survival, and patient-oriented outcomes for Alberta sarcoma patients.

Hearing those word “I have cancer” is devastating. It was a cool July day in 2021 when Reid Johnson sat with his parents and was delivered the news that his father has esophageal cancer.
Reid Johnson is participating in the Black Spur Ultra Marathon to raise funds for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. This 54Km trail race includes three trips over the mountain, with a total elevation of 2230 vertical meters. We hope you can help support an organization that does so much for our fellow Albertans.

TOGETHER, THE EDMONTON ELKS AND ALBERTA CANCER FOUNDATION WILL TACKLE CANCER!

During this game, The Edmonton Elks will be featuring survivors, patients tackling Cancer, players, employees, and fans whose lives have been touched by cancer. We invite current patients, survivors, and their family and friends to join the Edmonton Elks to help show their support and compassion. The first 100 patients and/or survivors to respond will receive a free ticket to attend the game, and be welcomed to go on the Elks field during the half time show. The Edmonton Elks will also provide a link to purchase tickets for friends and family, in the same section.

MAD Fitness in Onoway is so excited to announce that the MAD Dash is back! This year we are supporting the ALBERTA CANCER FOUNDATION. Far too many people are affected by cancer and it is our goal to raise money to help Albertans diagnosed with this terrible disease.

It is with great pleasure and anticipation that we announce that the 10th anniversary edition of the Terwillegar Trail Run and Walk will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022 in beautiful Terwillegar Park.
The TTRW is understandably the highlight of the year for us, however we would like our anniversary to be an extra special event so we’re busy planning the walk and run courses, breakfast menu, activities for the kids, great anniversary swag and more. Please stay tuned.
Our focus, as in past years, is to raise badly needed funds for the many Alberta men who are battling prostate cancer as well as those supporting them through their challenge. Funds raised in the last 9 years through the generosity of participants, volunteers and sponsors have directly and positively impacted research into new and exciting diagnostic and treatment innovations.

Who are we? We are the PLTC Multisport Foundation. We were not “founded” or “formed” but evolved organically over many years, drawn together by the sheer magnetism of friendship, camaraderie and an abiding passion for physical activity and personal challenge. We are as close to a family as you can get without having the same last name.
This year’s event will, once again, enthusiastically support the crucial work of those dedicated to finding new and innovative tools and strategies that will make life better for Albertans facing prostate cancer.

With the help of your input, we believe every future Terwillegar Trail Run and Walk will provide an even greater opportunity to challenge yourself and to enjoy the company of friends and family while making a difference for the 43 Albertans who hear the words “you have cancer” every day.
COURSE DESCRIPTION/INFORMATION – 7.5KM WALK
The walk will begin at the trail head at the end of Riddell Street, at the top of Terwillegar Park. Event participants will be escorted to the start location from the Riverbend Community Hall by race volunteers.
At the trail head, walkers will descend into the park on a wide, smooth gravel trail that opens onto an open field. At the bottom of the hill, the route will follow the park perimeter trail for about 4 km; the trail is wide, smooth and suitable for trail-style strollers.
There is one aid station on the walk route at about the halfway point. After circling the park the walkers will return up the hill along the trail and through the residential streets to the Riverbend Community Hall for post-walk refreshments. Race volunteers will escort walkers through the 7.5 km course. The walk is dog-friendly as Terwillegar Park is an off-leash area.
COURSE DESCRIPTION/INFORMATION – 10KM RUN
The run will begin at the trail head at the end of Riddell Street, at the top of Terwillegar Park. Event participants will be escorted to the start location from the Riverbend Community Hall by race volunteers.
The trail immediately gets gnarly, narrow and cluttered with roots and rocks. Participants quickly descend to the bottom of the river valley, which opens to a large field. Over the next kilometer, the trail narrows and frequently intersects the park perimeter trail as runners dodge in and out of trees. To prepare participants for the grind ahead two aid stations are on the course, the first is at the 3.3km mark.
After leaving the aid station, the run course features single track sections of trail, meandering around numerous ponds and punctuated with short, steep climbs. This part of the trail is littered with roots and rocks that will challenge runners. Much of this section is completely sheltered by low-hanging tree coverage along the way. The second aid station is at the 6.3 km mark, it will be a welcome sight to participants after a tough sustained climb out of the river valley. After a short out and back, a long smooth trail descent will eventually cross the park entrance road. The trail finishes with a steady climb out of the park to the start/finish and a short walk back to the Riverbend Community Hall for post-run refreshments.
There will be two aid stations on the course: the first one will support both the run and walk participants, the second will support the run. The aid station will be manned by two volunteers at each station, and refreshments and trash containers will be available to runners.
Aid station #1 – At 3.3 km on the run course and walking route, along the perimeter road on the north side of the park.
Aid Station #2 – At the 6.5 km mark on the run course at the Heffernan Drive trail head.

Axegirls.tv on YouTube features lives and careers of Axe throwing women around the world. Each axegirl will choose a charity they would like to raise funds do. Funds raised from this event will go towards Jack Ady Cancer Centre in Lethbridge in honoring and support of family members and friends who have either fought and beat cancer, are fighting it now or have lost their life to cancer.
