Calluses for Comfort 2020 @ Iron River School

Students at Iron River School are raising funds for the Bonnyville Community Cancer Centre through a run/walk on September 24, 2020, on school grounds. This is the 14th year the run/walk will take place in support of Albertans facing cancer. Donations will be accepted until October 14, 2020. Visit p2p.onecause.com/callusesforcomfort to donate!

GEDFest @ Ironwood Bar and Grill and Mikey's on 12th Avenue

Welcome to the 3rd Annual GEDfest: celebrating the life of Gordon Edgar Downie, and the music of the Tragically Hip. Gord Downie continues to be a poetic and musical inspiration to the world.

On October 17th, Tragically Hip Tribute band Trickle Down is playing two shows at the Ironwood Stage and Grill (1229 9 Ave SE) at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. with all proceeds being donated to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre through the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The evening show will be live streamed, with an online auction also being held. Simultaneously, Trickle Down are pleased to announce fellow Tragically Hip Tribute act Should High Weeds will be playing a 3rd show staring at Mikey’s on 12th Avenue.

Please help us honour Gord Downie, who the world lost to glioblastoma, and raise awareness and funds for cancer research. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Together, we identify the greatest needs and the biggest opportunities to improve patient experience.

At the root of everything he did, Gord Downie embodied courage. We honour Gord by revisiting his powerful words that continue to lend courage to those who need it most.​

Dig Pink 2020 @ The Calgary Academy
Oct 23 all-day

Due to COVID-19 the annual Dig Pink Charity Volleyball Tournament will not proceed, but this year, the Calgary Academy is putting on a school spirit event. There will also be a Volleyball camp – with a minimum $5 donation, for participants inside the school only. The Calgary Academy will also be hosting an auction to support Albertans facing cancer!

All funds will support Breast Cancer research in Alberta.
