Fundraising in Your Community

The Alberta Cancer Foundation engages the public year-round with special COVID-19 precautions taken, encouraging Albertans to sign up for monthly donations supporting Alberta’s 17 cancer centres. Our Fundraising Ambassadors can be found in retail and grocery stores, as well as at farmers markets. Throughout the warmer months of the year, they also visit individual donors at the front door of the donor’s home to express our gratitude for the donor’s monthly gifts. This is also an opportunity for the Fundraising Ambassador to ask monthly donors to consider renewing or increasing their regular support for new innovative cancer treatments and patient care at the 17 cancer centres throughout the province.

Our partner, F2F Direct Consulting, manages our passionate and knowledgeable group of Fundraising Ambassadors, who ask you and others to become part of Alberta’s cancer-free movement with a monthly pledge.

Monthly donors are integral to a stable source of funding for progress in cancer research, prevention, and care taking place right here in Alberta. Tax receipts for monthly donors are consolidated and delivered once a year. This practice not only lowers administration costs, but is an environmentally-friendly method to track charitable gifts. Please contact us or check out the FAQ to find out more about our our Fundraising Ambassadors program.

The Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Fundraising Ambassadors are active in your community year-round with COVID-19 special precautions being taken, including:

  • Canvassers will do a personal health check with their managers before each shift
  • Any canvasser experiencing symptoms will be tested for COVID-19 before returning to work and will follow the required government regulations.
  • Canvassers are required to have a facemask on hand at all times while actively canvassing. The canvasser will wear the mask when approaching a member of the public who is also wearing a mask or when a member of the public requests that the canvasser wears a mask.
  • Hand sanitizer and hand wipes will be available
