After the Government of Alberta announced that a comprehensive cancer centre will be built with government funding of $1.4 billion, the Alberta Cancer Foundation started work on planning to embark on a $200 million campaign to fund programs, equipment and advance excellence within the new cancer centre under construction in the city of Calgary.
This hallmark campaign for the foundation will significantly improve patient care and push the pace of progress that leads to faster diagnoses, groundbreaking research and leading-edge treatments. The new Calgary Cancer Centre will be a world-class facility that our donors can be proud to be a part of for years to come.
This campaign will be a springboard for other cancer centre campaigns that appear on the horizon for the province of Alberta and will be part of the foundation’s comprehensive, five year fundraising strategy from 2019 – 2024. With our partners, CancerControl Alberta, and all stakeholders involved in this inspiring project, we have been given an opportunity to enhance the care Albertans receive and the remarkable cancer research happening right here at home.
