Alberta Cancer Foundation Patient Navigators

At the Alberta Cancer Foundation, we have one goal: to make life better for Albertans facing cancer.

Each year, we invest in initiatives that have a direct impact on patient outcomes, and provide patients and families with the best possible treatment and care they can receive.

This Progress Report is a reflection of that strategy in action. Two years ago, we invested in a provincial Nurse Navigator program that ensured all Albertans would have access to excellent treatment and support, no matter where they live. Today, they do, thanks to you.

You’ll read about a recent evaluation on another one of our investments, the Screening for Distress Program. Since the launch of that program, cancer patients across Alberta have reported significantly lower levels of stress when going through cancer treatment. That’s measurable impact.

We also recently invested in a new website that is puts clinical trials information at the patient finger tips. And finally, you’ll get an update on Alberta’s Tomorrow Project, a project we have funded since its inception in 2000, which is heading into the final stretch of recruitment.

All of these investments have played a part in making life better for Alberta cancer patients. Thank you for helping us make investments that matter.

Myka Osinchuk,
CEO Alberta Cancer Foundation
