If you are missing the golf tournaments this summer, grab a group of friends, have some fun on the fairway and dedicate a round of golf to supporting Albertans facing cancer.
The Alberta Cancer Foundation is the official fundraising partner for the 17 cancer centres across the province. This road trip gives you the opportunity to learn more about these communities, while exploring close to home!
Kids can participate in this new program designed just for them. As a summer activity, we have put together a five day summer camp that they can participate in virtually.
The Albertans Helping Albertans Virtual 5K is a virtual, province-wide fundraiser that raises funds for the 17 Alberta Health Services cancer centres. Every donation made will help drive the individual needs and vital services of the chosen centre, where world-class equipment, technology and personnel can help change the lives of patients as well as their families.
You can participate by joining a team or as an individual and committing to run or walk a minimum of 5K! You will also choose which cancer centre you would like raise funds for- from Fort McMurray, to Red Deer to Lethbridge.
Postponed until 2021
In 2016, the longstanding Don LaBerge Memorial Golf Classic joined forces with the Golf for the Cure in memory of Janice E. Crist. The tournament was a huge success and raised $50,000 for the Patient Financial Assistance Program to make life better for Albertans facing cancer.
Together these tournaments joined forces with the Alberta Cancer Foundation to kick off the 1st Annual Alberta Cancer Foundation Golf Classic in 2017. With the help of our supporters and generous donors, over $830,000 net has been raised for patients facing cancer across the province.
