Last year, in the middle of the global pandemic of 2020 we raised $1.9 million together. Thank you.

Over the past twelve years, Albertans have gotten together in the summer to participate in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. Millions of dollars have been raised in Alberta — by YOU — to support incredible cancer research and care for Albertans facing cancer. We are so grateful.

You may have heard that our national partner, CauseForce, who managed The Ride to Conquer Cancer in four Canadian cities has ceased operations in Canada due to the business impacts of COVID-19. Of course, it was difficult news all around, but the Alberta Cancer Foundation, with the continued support of our partner Enbridge, decided we must keep the momentum going with a new event, giving you the opportunity to continue your dedication and support of cancer research and care delivered by Albertans, for Albertans. Managed by us — for YOU — and all Albertans facing cancer.

As always, the event is for you. The purpose is for them.

We are excited as things are coming together for this new cycling event — YOUR new event — and we can’t wait to share more about it with you. This year will have to be virtual, of course, but we can’t wait for the chance for it to be in-person in 2022.

Although the brand is going to be new with a different name and a different look, the goals and the experience for you will remain the same — an inspiring cycling challenge, team support, fundraising support, and the same unparalleled impact on cancer outcomes for Albertans.

The best news is that we have a date! August 28, 2021. Get it in your calendars now!

Expect to hear more from us as we inch closer to launching the most “Alberta” cycling challenge event this province has ever seen. For the most courageous and brave Albertans who have shown their Alberta strength through a cancer experience. Those with us. And those we’ve lost. We can’t wait to get on the saddle for them again. Stay tuned for more details.

In the meantime, while we are getting our technical systems in place, start thinking about fundraising ideas and as soon as our new platform is launched, your fundraising will already be in motion!

Stay tuned! We encourage everyone to stay tuned to this site for the most up-to-date information and follow on social media:

Julie Rohr

For Julie, a voicemail changed everything.

Stage four cancer.

Sadly, she is not alone. One in two Albertans will hear the words, “you have cancer” in their lifetime and One in four will not survive.

We need to do more. With your help we can.
