The BioCanRx network is accelerating to the clinic Canada’s most promising and innovative cancer biotherapeutics designed to save lives and enable a better quality of life. BioCanRx invests in innovations and the best the field has to offer, always looking for a clear path to the clinic for the benefit of patients. BioCanRx works in partnership with industry, charities and other agencies to translate immune-based technologies from the lab into early phase clinical trials and addresses socio-economic considerations necessary for their adoption by health-care systems. Through an innovative, collaborative funding process, BioCanRx is becoming a world-leader in the translation, manufacture and adoption of innovative cancer immunotherapies for the benefit of all patients. The network is developing and attracting the talent needed for a thriving health biotechnology sector in Canada. BioCanRx is a not-for-profit corporation and receives funding from the federal government’s Networks of Centres of Excellence, and support from industry, the provinces and many national charities.

The Alberta Cancer Foundation is the official fundraising partner of CancerControl Alberta and Alberta Health Services for all 17 cancer centres in the province, including the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. Our vision is a cancer-free future. We believe collaboration propels results, which is why we bring together patients and families, researchers, health providers and donors to make a difference in the lives of Albertans. Every investment we make is focused on our goals to diagnose cancer earlier, improve the effectiveness of cancer treatments, improve quality of life for cancer patients and their families and reduce Albertans’ risk of developing cancer. Through the support of our donors, we are Alberta’s largest philanthropic investor in cancer research. We seek out opportunities that have the greatest potential of helping Albertans facing cancer.
